The Black Stars of Ghana will play their second group game in the Qatar 2022 world cup against the Asian Tigers of South Korea.
Ghana will need to get back to winning ways after losing their first game to Portugal in a five-goal thriller game. Ghana have qualified to the knockout stages of the world cup in two occassions (2006 and 2010) and will be hoping to do it this time around. However, they have to go past South Korea who picked a point against Uruguay in their first game.
Head Coach for Blacks Stars, Otto Addo is confident ahead of the clash and he insists the team is ready.
“Maybe for the public, we lost but for us, we learned. We learn always. Sometimes even when we win, we did everything right so we always learn and I’m happy to have a team that is ready,” he told the press ahead of the match against South Korea. If we win against South Korea and Portugal wins, hopefully, against Uruguay, then we will be second, so the chance is still great.” He said.
“For sure, it will be very, very tough to beat South Korea because they are good, but now we have to win. We are under pressure, but they are too.” He added.
South Korea Head Coach, Paulo Bento believes the game against Ghana will be a difficult one but he is optimistic of a win.
“I don’t feel any pressure whatsoever. I would love the players to feel the way I do, but I know they come from a different culture, We will have a difficult game but we are able to do well,.” He said.
